The latest buzz in the media suggests that actress-turned-producer Charmme Kaur has forced director Puri Jagannath to dump actor Nithiin (also spelled as Nithin or Nitin) and his producer father Sudhakar Reddy from his next film.
Having tasted success with "Heart Attack", Puri Jagannath had announced that he is teaming up with actor Nithiin in his forthcoming movie, which was to be produced by Sudhakar Reddy. The script was ready and the director had cast Regina Cassandra for the female lead opposite Nithiin. The untitled movie was to be launched on Friday, 12 June.
But many in the industry were surprised, when Nithiin announced on his Twitter handle that he was no longer a part of Puri's next due to some reasons. Additionally, the director announced that he was going to rope in a different actor for the same script. Ram Gopal Varma then revealed that Puri had dumped Nithiin for a young actor.
Meanwhile, Deccan Chronicle reports that Puri Jagannath wanted Charmme Kaur, who turned producer with their latest venture "Jyothi Lakshmi", to be a part of the production team. But Sudhakar Reddy, who was not happy with Charmme's interference, decided to opt out of the movie with his son Nithiin.
"Discussions had been going on for the past few days and producer Sudhakar Reddy — Nithiin's father — had even given an advance to Puri. Amidst these discussion, Charmme entered the scene with a wish to handle the film's production. Director Puri too supported her, insisting Charmme be made a part of the project. But Sudhakar Reddy objected to her interference in the film, and he decided to back out from the project," a source told the daily.
It has also been reported that Charmme wanted to replace Regina Cassandra with Disha Patani. "But once Charmme entered the scene, everything changed. She wanted Disha Patani instead of Regina. In fact, the producer agreed to give some share to Puri and requested him not to keep Charmme in production, but the director refused to eject the actress, so the project stands shelved," the source adds.
