That Ranbir Kapoor's "Bombay Velvet" is well on its way to sinking at the box office is no big news, but the impact poor collections has left on its leading man is far from what anyone would have imagined.
Meanwhile, RK's ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone shut down every critic with her stellar performance in Shoojit Sircar's "Piku", and what's interesting to note is, despite being a film sans all the blockbuster frills, it has managed to ace the BO, reportedly earning ₹100 crore worldwide.
The actress recently held a bash to celebrate the success with close friends from the industry. From Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh to Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, all attended the get together to congratulate her.
However, the Kapoor scion was missing in action, and it's not because they don't meet up socially. According to a Daily Bhaskar source, he refused to be part of the jubilation as he was mighty upset with the money the Anurag Kashyap directorial has been making.
"Ranbir is a good friend of Deepika now, she obviously invited him, but the debacles of Bombay Velvet made RK to stay away from the success bash. Ranbir is very upset with Bombay Velvet's Box Office collection and so he wants to be left alone," said the source.
However, since the Kapoor lad hasn't expressed his disappointment in person, this piece of intel can very well be counted as one from the gossip columns.
In other news, ex-couple Deepika and Ranbir have Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha" coming up next year. Their third film together, the former pair have moved on in their personal lives. While Ranbir lives with girlfriend Katrina Kaif, the "Piku" actress shares a good 'friendship' with "Dil Dhadakne Do" star Ranveer Singh.
