Dhruva first day box office collection: Ram Charan-starrer fails to beat Allu Arjun's Sarainodu opening record

Ram Charan's Dhruva made a good collection at the worldwide box office on the first day, but it has failed to beat the opening day record of Geetha Arts' last release Sarainodu starring Allu Arjun.

Dhruva is the remake of hit movie Thani Oruvan and the success of the Tamil film had created a lot of hype and expectations from the film. Its exciting promos and makers' good publicity strategies generated good buzz. But trade pundits were sceptical on if the movie would be affected by demonetisation, which has continued to cause cash issues for the public.

But the hype and promotion helped Dhruva witness decent advance booking for its opening day. The movie received good response in the benefit shows held in the wee hours of Friday. The positive talk boosted its collection in the regular shows on its opening day and the movie ran to packed houses in several centers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.

The Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer is estimated to have grossed Rs 13 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T), Rs 2.50 crore in Karnataka, Rs 3.25 crore in the US and Rs 2 crore in other parts of the globe. Dhruva has collected approximately Rs 20.75 crore gross at the worldwide box office at the worldwide box office on the first day.

However, the earnings of Dhruva are better than Ram Charan's Govindudu Andarivadele (GAV) in AP/T box office on the first day, but its performance is poorer than his last release Bruce Lee and Allu Aravind's Sarainodu. Here are the estimated number of the above mentioned movies. They may not match with the actual numbers released by the makers/distributors.
