Dhruva 2nd day box office collection: Ram Charan-starrer remains rock-steady on Saturday

Ram Charan's Dhruva, which was released in theatres on December 9, remained strong at the world wide box office on Saturday and its two-day gross collection has now crossed Rs 35 crore mark.

Riding on huge hype and promotion, Dhruva was released in a large number of screens across the globe on Friday and successfully reached the viewers' expectations. The movie collected Rs 22.30 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. It earned Rs 15.40 crore for its distributors on its opening day.

The Surender Reddy-directed action thriller received positive talk from critics and audience and the word of mouth helped the movie maintain rock-steady at the ticket counters on Saturday. When compared to its opening day collection, Dhruva witnessed nearly 50 percent drop in its business on the second day. However, this was a regular trend with every movie in Telugu.

Dhruva has collected approximately Rs 13 crore gross at the worldwide box office on Saturday, taking its two-day global collection to Rs 35 crore gross. On Saturday, the movie is estimated to have over Rs 9.02 crore for its distributors, whose total earnings have reached Rs 24.42 crore in two days. It has recovered 40 percent of investments to the distributors, who shelled of Rs 57.50 crore on its theatrical rights.

The first weekend collection of Dhruva is expected to be fantastic numbers for Ram Charan. Vamsi Kaka, the publicist for Dhruva, tweeted: "2nd day starts with a bang. #Dhruva IPS is ruling the box office and winning hearts with his performance." He added later: "Mega Power Star Ram Charan flexes his muscle at the box office on the 2nd day. Solid 1st weekend numbers on the way."
