The idea of a fourth "Dhoom" is explosive and the excitement has increased manifolds with the casting speculations. Ranveer Singh will play the protagonist, whereas Salman Khan the baddie in the film, sources have said.
Apaprently Yash Raj Films head honcho Aditya Chopra wants to make "Dhoom Reloaded: The Chase Continues" for the youth, which is why the makers have zeroed in on the "Befikre" actor. "Talks are on for Salman Khan to play the negative role so if both get finalised, it will be Salman and Ranveer for India's most successful franchise," an insider informed DNA.
To be helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is expected to roll early 2017. The source added that Amitabh Bachchan is also a part of the fourth instalment, but the female lead is yet to be decided upon.
If what is being said turns out to be true, it'll be particularly interesting to watch Salman share screen space with another established mainstream actor, something that he probably hasn't done in years. He may have trained and launched several aspiring stars into showbiz, but has never worked with them in any film.
In other news, Salman will soon jet off to Budapest to shoot a song with Anushka Sharma for Ali Abbas Zafar's "Sultan." To hit screens on Eid, the sports-drama has an interesting premise; it focuses on Haryana-based wrestler Sultan Ali Khan's battles, both in the ring and outside of it.
Meanwhile, Ranveer is busy with Aditya's upcoming directorial, "Befikre." In his words, the film is a "light, breezy, romantic film" and will open in theatres on Dec. 9; it stars Vaani Kapoor in the lead. The team has released two posters, both of which see the actors kiss passionately.
