The action drama film was earlier released at box offices in Turkey, where it created several records. "Dhoom 3" became the only Bollywood film to enter the Turkish Top 10 chart list.
And in China, the film has opened at ninth spot earning $1.35 million in its opening weekend. The film has also shattered the records of Chinese romantic film "No Zuo No Die", a statement from Yash Raj Films noted.
"With weekend admissions at 267,000 DHOOM:3 takes a flying start and is on target to become the biggest Indian film in China," the statement read.
"Dhoom 3" is the third installment film in the Dhoom franchise. The film was released in India and international market on 19 December.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film also features Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in important roles.
When released in India, the action drama shattered all the previous box office records starting from highest opening day collection, highest opening weekend grosser, fastest film to reach ₹100 crore mark, first film to cross ₹250 crore mark and highest grosser film ever.
"Dhoom 3" also became the highest grossing film in international market.
YRF in their statement said: "Internationally Dhoom:3 cleared $10.17 million (Rs.61 Cr) on the opening weekend in December 2013, making it the biggest opening weekend EVER for any Bollywood film and setting a stupendous Box Office $27.51 million (Rs.165 Cr) record from the traditional and non-traditional markets."
And looking at the response the film has received in China, one can expect the film to rule at Chinese box office too.
