Tamil superstar Dhanush's latest movie Kodi, which released on October 28, has opened to positive response from the audience. The Telugu version of the political thriller, titled Dharma Yogi, hit the screens on Saturday, and is expected to impress the Tollywood viewers as well.
The Dhanush-starrer, directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, stars Trisha and Anupama Parameswaran in the female lead roles. The young star plays a double role in the movie, as politician Kodi and college lecturer Anbu, who are twins. Trisha is seen as a village girl Rudra, who is also an ambitious aspiring politician, while Anupama, who rose to fame with the Malayalam movie Premam, plays as an egg vendor Malathi in her debut Tamil project.
Dharma Yogi also has Saranya Ponvannan, SA Chandrasekhar, Singamuthu, Kaali Venkat and Namo Narayana in significant roles.
Kodi, which was released in more than 420 screens in Tamil Nadu on Friday is estimated to have earned a collection of approximately Rs 4 crore on the opening day itself. The positive word-of-mouth the movie has been garnering from the Tamil audience is expected to help the Dhanush-starrer make a good collection in the coming days.
