This Diwali is going to be a big dhamaka for Tamil cinema lovers. Besides new film releases like "Kaththi" and "Poojai," there will be multiple special programmes including "I" audio launch that will be televised on popular TV channels.
If that is not enough for the fans to celebrate, here is some more exciting news. According to latest reports, the first look teaser of Dhanush's upcoming film "Anegan" will be released as a Diwali treat for the fans.
Earlier, there were reports claiming that "Anegan" will also join the Diwali race and release on the special day. However, it did not materialise much to the disappointment of Dhanush fans. With latest reports emerging that "Anegan" teaser will be releasing for Diwali, it will be a triple treat for fans as "Kaththi" and "Poojai" are set to hit the screens for the festival of lights.
The shooting of "Anegan" is reportedly completed and the team is busy with the post-production work. The film's audio launch is expected to happen in the first week of November. The date will be announced after Diwali, tweeted Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment, the producers of "Anegan." The film is also expected to hit the screens next month.
Directed by cinematographer-turned-director KV Anand, "Anegan" is touted to be a romantic drama that spans four different time periods. Dhanush will reportedly be appearing in four different looks in the film.
Newcomer Amyra Dastur plays the female lead opposite the national award winning actor, while versatile actor Karthik appears in a pivotal role. Ashish Vidyarthi, Atul Kulkarni and Jagan are also part of the film's cast.
Harris Jayaraj has composed six songs and Dhanush has rendered a song for the album. Sony Music South has acquired the audio rights of "Anegan."
The film will be Dhanush's second release of the year after "Velai Illa Pattathari." The Velraj directorial hit the screens in July and performed exceptionally well at the box office. It has reportedly grossed over ₹50 crore worldwide and is one of the biggest hits in Dhanush's career. Following the success of the film, there are huge expectations for "Anegan."
It will be interesting to see if the romantic drama, touted to be Dhanush's costliest film in his career, also follows strike gold at the box office.
