Dhanush's "Anegan" has completed the censor formalities and has received a clean "U" rating from the censor board.

"Anegan" is one of the eagerly-awaited films of 2015. The film, directed by KV Anand, is deemed as a romantic entertainer. Its teaser and songs have generated good buzz among the fans. The trailer is also expected to boost the expectations on the film.
With the film receiving a clean "U," it is eligible for an entertainment tax exemption. The romantic drama is expected to hit the screens for Valentine's Day in February. However, an official confirmation on the release date is still awaited.
The KV Anand directorial will reportedly have Dhanush appearing in different looks. Newcomer Amyra Dastur plays the female lead, while veteran actor Karthik appears in a pivotal role. The film's other cast members include Atul Kulkarni, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mukesh Tiwari, Thalaivasal Vijay and Aishwarya Devan.
Harris Jayaraj has composed the songs, while cinematography is handled by Om Prakash. AGS Entertainment has produced the film.
"Anegan" is deemed as the costliest film ever in Dhanush's career. It is the first time that the actor has teamed up with cinematographer-turned-director KV Anand. The director has an impressive track record with films like "Ko" and "Ayan."
Dhanush is also going through a good phase with the success of his last release "Velai Illa Pattathari." The action drama emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2014 by minting more than ₹50 crore worldwide. It will be interesting to see if the national award winner continues his success streak with "Anegan."
Besides "Anegan," Dhanush is expected to have a couple of releases in different languages including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. His second Bollywood film "Shamitabh," co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan, will be releasing on 6 February.
The Telugu dubbed version of "Velai Illa Pattathari is expected to release next year. In Tamil, Dhanush will be seen in Balaji Mohan's "Maari" and Velraj's untitled flick, which might also hit the screens in 2015.
