Here is good news for Dhanush and A R Rahman fans. The audio release of actor Dhanush's most-awaited film, "Mariyaan" is set for 13 May (Monday).
This is the first time A R Rahman has composed music for Dhanush's film.
"Mariyaan audio release on may 13 th. My first movie with a r rahman sirs music. So excited. My pick of d album is netru aval and komban sura," Dhanush tweeted.
In a coincidence of sorts, Rahman is also the composer of Dhanush's bollywood debut flick, "Raanjhnaa" co-starring Sonam Kapoor.
Directed by Bharatbala, "Mariyaan" is the story of human survival inspired by true events. The national award winner appears as a fisherman who struggles to deal with life's challenges and fights for his survival.
"A young man is faced with adversity. Life deals him immense challenges, and forces him to struggle to thrive. But he does, nevertheless, fighting to survive by thriving on the sheer undying spirit of the human will to survive. Along his thrilling journey is a tryst with adventure, a smattering of drama and a gritty tale that shows the power of love in extreme circumstances. And that is the story of Mariyaan," said a press statement, which was earlier released with the poster.
Malayalam actress Parvathy Menon plays the female lead in "Mariyaan". The official trailer of "Mariyaan", which was released on 1 May, has already generated a lot of hype. Ever since the trailer was released, more than one million people (1,067,760 till date) have viewed the video which has been uploaded on YouTube. Expectations are also high for the audio launch. Recently, a song from the film "Nenje Ezhu " sung by the maestro himself was unveiled as a 38-second teaser. The song received more than four lakh views on YouTube.
During the audio release, the oscar winner (Rahman) is expected to perform a few tracks from the film. An interesting tidbit about "Mariyaan's" music is that popular composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has sung for Rahman in this film.
"Mariyaan" is expected to go to censors by 15 May. The film might get released on 31 May. However, there is no official word on the release date.
