Tamil actor Dhanush has crooned the title song of Sai Dharam Tej's Telugu film "Thikka," for which S Thaman has composed the music. Its audio album will be launched at a grand function to be held on July 30.
Dhanush debuted as a playback singer after singing for the movie "Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan" in 2004. Later, he recorded some songs for films like "Pudhupettai" (2006), "Aayirathil Oruvan" (2010) and "Mayakkam Enna" (2011). But it was song "Kolaveri di," from the movie "3," which made him an internet phenomenon. He has also sung for few Kannada and Telugu films.
The actor-turned-singer could not say no when music director S Thaman requested him to sing a song for "Thikka." Dhanush reportedly visited the latter's studio and recorded the title track on July 19. G Sriniwasa Kumar, the publicist for the film tweeted: "Here is big news @dhanushkraja sings for @IamSaiDharamTej #Thikka in @MusicThaman music."
After the completion of the recording on July 19, Sai Dharam Tej took to his Twitter account to thank Dhanush. The actor tweeted: "@dhanushkraja thank you so much sir... hope you liked the song...looking forward to hear it...." In reply, Dhanush wrote: "@IamSaiDharamTej my pleasure :)"
The makers of "Thikka" have planned to hold a grand function for its music release at Silpakala Vedika in Hyderabad this Saturday. Sai Dharam Tej tweeted on July 24: "#Thikka Audio on 30th July at Silpakalavedika Thanks to @MusicThaman for giving the songs on time.waiting for the RR."
"Thikka" is touted to be a romantic action film, which is written by Lakshmi Bhupal and directed by Sunil Reddy. Sai Dharam Tej is playing the hero, while Larissa Bonesi and Mannara Chopra essay the roles of female leads in the film. Dr Rohin Reddy is bankrolling the movie under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Movie Makers.
