Expectations are huge for "Shamitabh" as Balki has teamed up with Bachchan for the third time post the success of "Cheeni Kum" and "Paa."
The film is Dhanush's second Hindi project, after the critically-acclaimed and commercially successful "Ranjhanaa," which hit the screens in 2013. Dhanush's performance won him accolades from all quarters and it remains to be seen whether the actor will be able to impress the audience once again with his role in "Shamitabh."
According to reports, Dhanush will be playing the role of a deaf and mute junior artiste, while Bachchan will be giving voice to him. The film's shooting, which commenced in February, is progressing well. It is expected to be Dhanush's first release of 2015.
The actor is on a roll with the success of his recently-released Tamil film "Velai Illa Pattathari" ("Unemployed Graduate"). The romantic action entertainer has turned out to be the biggest Tamil hit of 2014 so far. It is also one of the biggest hits in Dhanush's film career. Buzz is that the film is all set to remade in Hindi, but there is no official word in this regard.
The national award winner will be next seen in director K.V. Anand's "Anegan", which is expected to hit the screens by this year end. With two big releases in the pipeline, Dhanush is expected to hit a hat-trick at the box office.
Besides these films, Dhanush has reportedly committed to other Tamil projects – one with "Aadukalam" director Vetrimaran and "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum" director Balaji Shakthivel. There is also buzz that the actor will be doing a cameo in the sequel to Hindi film "Tanu Weds Manu."
