Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak has started its box office journey on a positive note. The movie opened up with an excellent box office collection on its first day.
The remake of Marathi film Sairat, Dhadak has been released on 2,235 screens across India. Although many felt that the movie is not up to the mark of the original, Janhvi and Ishaan's fresh chemistry is being appreciated by the audience.
Dhadak started witnessing good occupancy towards the evening shows, an ended the day 1 on a happy note. Dhadak collected Rs 8.71 crore at the domestic market on its first day. It is a huge number considering the fact that the film features two completely new comers. In fact, Dhadak surpassed the first day collection of Student of the Year, which had collected Rs 7.48 crore on the opening day.

Dhadak has been one of the most awaited flicks for many reasons. First, it is the debut of Sridevi's daughter Janhvi, and the second film of Ishaan. Secondly it has been produced by Karan Johar, and lastly, it is the remake of hit Marathi film Sairat.
Being the daughter of Sridevi, Janhvi already has a good fan following, and Ishaan too is quite a favourite among girls. Being a love story of a young student couple, the film is likely to pull a lot of audience from the age bracket of 16-25.
Being a solo big release, Dhadak is expected to witness sharp growth in its box office collection over the weekend. The film will enjoy strong word of mouth, and will make big moolah over the weekend.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is a tragic love story with a strong message. Apart from Ishaan and Janhvi, it also has a strong ensemble cast of supporting actors.
