Destiny's in-game character, Xur Agent of the Nine, will be back in the reckoning during 26-28 December weekend. Xur appears only during the weekend.
Xur is the merchant within the Tower who comes with new exotic weapons, armours and other rare goods for players who have saved Strange Coins and/or Motes of Light.
Note: Xur can be found standing in the Hall of Guardians, near the trio of vanguard vendors.
However, since the PSN and Xbox Live have been hit by a DDoS attack and are currently offline, it might be impossible for players to log in to Destiny.
In another shocker, players who managed to log in to the server found no Exotic Engram from Xur. It is not known if it was temporary error or if he is not offering it at all this weekend, reported iDigitalTimes.
Xur will be available only till 28 December, 2014 and will disappear until the next weekend.
Below are the items in Xur's inventory that will be available this weekend (Reddit and Planet Destiny):

Christmas Gifts to be given in January
Bungie has announced via a tweet that the Holiday gifts for Destiny players will be arriving in January 2015.
"Holiday gifts are scheduled for delivery in January. No one is missing out the Cryptarch's good cheer," said the tweet from David "DeeJ" Dague, community manager.
Speculations on what the holiday gifts could include vary. Some suggest that players might get Exotic or Legendary Engrams to Motes of Light or useless weapons, GamingBolt reported.
