Bungie has released an update 1.03 for Destiny that promises to bring significant changes in the gameplay before the eventual release of The Dark Below expansion. The first expansion will be rolling out on 9 December 2014.
Bungie in an official post said that the new update 1.03 will add "new social features, revisions to activities, alterations to competitive spaces, adjustments to the player overall experience, as well as a sizable download of new content and geometry to support the first expansion of the world of Destiny." The update also adds the shader previewing and the optional team voice chat.
Apart from these, the update tweaks the Iron Banner special event, adding new set of rules and features.
The Team Chat addition was one of the most requested items that will allow players to communicate with their team members on the same voice channel. Players who would want to talk to the member privately can toggle to Fireteam Chat.
This is a huge update from Bungie weighing 2.44GB. Game Rant reported that players were experiencing lower effectiveness in exotic weapons post-launch. Bungie says there have been some changes that were brought about to the exotic weapons, inadvertently. It has also said these issues will be addressed in the Thursday's Weekly Update post.
Destiny was released on 9 September 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

How to Farm Vanguard Reputation
Players wanting help to farm the Vanguard reputation quickly need to first get acclimatised with the VIP missions in Destiny. Players who complete these missions will get 25 Vanguard reputation, this points Gameranx is the same amount of reputation when players play Vanguard Tiger Strike, taking lesser time.
The Steps
- Load up Earth Patrol
- Look for VIP patrol missions
- If you can't find any in the first two zones, The Steppes or the Mothyards, go to orbit.
- Repeat step 1.
Missions can be Picked up Here | Missions End up Here |
The Steppes | The Divide |
The Divide | The Divide |
The Divide | Rocketyard (rare) |
Rocketyard | Refinery |
The Mothyards | Lunar Complex |
Skywatch | Terrestrial Complex |
Skywatch | Lunar Complex |
Steps to be Efficient:
- If players find that the starting area itself has the VIP mission then they should take it and then go to The Divide. Here they must complete the mission and keep looking for another one. If The Divide has one then players must stay in the same area. After the completion of the VIP mission in The Divide, grab the Kill Everything mission. But it you do not get that mission then go to Rocketyard and there grab either the VIP missions or Kill Everything missions.
- In case the Starting area does not have the VIP missions or Kill Everything mission then players will have to go to the left area (The Mothyards) and there they can pick up any VIP mission in that area. This takes players to the building where one has to pass while heading to the loot cave (Lunar Complex). Players have to move to loot cave area (Skywatch) from here. If there is a mission here then it could lead to the Lunar Complex or into the Terrestrial Complex. If it leads players to the Lunar Complex then they have to finish the mission there and go to Orbit. But if it leads players to the Terrestrial Complex then players will have to complete it and have to walk a bit ahead to the shores that have been forgotten and look for mission. Now go to Orbit and repeat the process.
