Bungie's upcoming The Taken King DLC for Destiny is one that's making a lot of noise across the Internet. And after the grand release and mostly positive reception for the very-recent House of Wolves, fans have been treated to the new DLC slightly at this year's E3 event.
With The Taken King DLC now set for a release later this year, it seems like details for the same are slowly trickling in via several sources. While most of them have been products of countless hours of data mining by dedicated fans, others, however, have arrived directly from the horse's mouth.
The latest detail for The Taken King DLC for Destiny talks about the expansion's Dreadnaught Raid. Apparently, the Dreadnaught Raid for The Taken King DLC is said to be the biggest ever that Bungie has ever pushed out for players in any of their previously released expansions for the game.
Recently speaking on the subject of the new area set to be explored by Destiny fans in the Taken King, design director Luke Smith revealed their plans to make the Dreadnaught the best place to find loot. For that matter, the studio has announced that Taken King will include more content than the previous two DLCs.
Bungie has announced that the new Raid included in The Taken King will be the biggest one yet. In fact, recent reports have also suggested that the Taken King Raid will be called 'Dreadnaught' and will focus on a six-player team invading Oryx's vast spaceship.
"We want the new Destiny destination you're going to in the Taken King to be an inscrutable loot-filled fortress, a new place to go with new activities to do that make you engage more with the world," Smith stated. "The Solar System has a lot of places we could go."
"The Taken King is a game about a bad-guy turning up in town with an evil army, and you and the other Guardians are going to bum-rush his fortress in the sky and take him out. It means we can breathe new life back into the worlds by raising this army across the Solar System."
As of now, the Dreadnaught Raid is said to have more in common with the Vault of Glass and will have big areas for teams of Guardians to explore. Apart from that, Bungie also confirmed that Oryx is going to play a prodding role in the Taken King, and will haunt you and taunt you as you make your way through the expansion.
However, more details on the new Dreadnaught Raid is expected to arrive as we near the final release date for The Taken King.
Speaking about The Taken King, it seems like Sony has announced a special, limited edition Taken King PS4 bundle that's set to be released this September.
The bundle is set to include a white Destiny-inspired 500GB Limited Edition PS4 system and a physical copy of Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition, which includes Destiny, Expansions I and II, and The Taken King.
Apart from that, fans will also get an upgrade to the Digital Collector's Edition, which includes the following content: three exotic Guardian class items with XP bonuses, three classic-specific emotes, three armor shaders, as well as the early access weapons pack.
There will also be a number of exclusive content for all those who indeed pick up the bundle come September. This includes a co-op Strike (Echo Chamber), a PvP multiplayer map (Sector 618), three legendary gear sets (Hesperos, Azoth Bend, and Neuroghast), plus an exotic scout rifle (the Jade Rabbit).
Stay tuned for more updates.
