Designated Survivor is slowly but steadily building up to what looks like a cliffhanging season finale. Like the mid season finale wasn't enough to scare fans, the show is headed for an impactful season finale. But what can one expect in the finale? Well, episode 20 will set the base for it.

The 19th episode showed Agent Wells in deep trouble as she managed to untie herself only to find out that she is in the middle of nowhere, away from the shore. On the other hand, Abe Leonard learns about Wells kidnapping and is all set to ruin the White House's image. But the biggest shock of the episode was Former Assistant Director of the FBI, Jason Atwood, who got gunned down.
It was also made clear that the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Hoover Dam are just decoys. So what is the real target, or rather who?
In the 20th episode premiere, titled Bombshell, will see Kirkman is headed to round of media bashing and series of disappointments. The spoiler details shared by ABC reveal that President Kirkman will have some answering to do as journalist Abe Leonard publishes an explosive article against the White House.
The explosive article spreads the news that the Capitol did not capture the people responsible for the bombing, throwing Kirkman under the bus. Not only will President Kirkman have some fixing to, his first international summit as a President will be derailed due to the explosive piece.
The episode trailer also adds that the article jeopardizes Kirkman's agenda for NATO.
While Kirkman is cleaning the aftermath of the article, Agent Wells will be busy running around and pinning down the season 1 finale plotline. The official description states that Agent Well will discover the conspiracy's next target. The promos also show Wells taking a blow. Does it indicate that she will be shut down before she uncovers any detail? Or she dies after the kidnappers find out she knows way too much?
If she does know, will the audience get in on the secret? Will it be a place or a person or will they attack the Capitol again, leaving Kirkman dead? Find out on the new episode of Designated Survivor.
