Tata Docomo has come out with a new plan, and announced that it would not only accept old Rs 500 notes but also offer Rs 600 worth of talktime. The cellular service provider would accept demonetised notes until December 15 this year, as per the government's notification.
Alongside the Rs 500 recharge offer, Docomo has also introduced another data only offer that lets prepaid subscribers enjoy 10GB of 3G data valid for three months on recharge of Rs 495.The data covered, under this plan, also extends to 2G data for customers without 3G phones and for those living in areas that are not yet covered with 3G wireless networks.
In addition to the above plans, Tata Docomo subscribers can also recharge with the new Rs 496 plan that promises both talktime and data at the same time. Under this offer, users will be given Rs 250 worth talktime, along with 5GB of 3G/2G data valid for 60 days.
Finally, there is also the Rs 494 recharge plan that claims to offer free local and STD calls for 30 days.
Tata Docomo's data only tariff plan, which is the Rs 495 offer, stands to compete with Reliance Jio, as the former's offer roughly translates to Rs 50 per GB of data that is similar to what Reliance Jio has announced. However, the exception in this case is that Tata Docomo's data coverage is limited to 3G that is incomparable to 4G-LTE offered by Reliance Jio.
