Demi Lovato is selling her home in Hollywood Hills as a sign of moving on and having no reminders of her drug abuse days. The pop singer is currently in a rehab facility in Chicago seeking treatment following her drug overdose in July.
Demi purchased the house in September 2016 for $8.3 million. The value of the house now estimated at $9.495 million. According to People magazine, Demi made the decision to move on from her old home and start afresh. A source told the magazine, "Her house is up for sale. She's getting healthy and putting the past behind her."
The house is "located at the end of a quiet road above the Chateau Marmont", according to Zillow, a listing agency. The 5,564 square feet house has five bathrooms and four bedrooms with a view facing Downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. There is a swimming pool, a bar, and a media room as well.
The 'Sorry not Sorry' singer was rushed to the hospital after she overdosed with Oxycodone laced with fentanyl. She was admitted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and was eventually discharged. She flew to Chicago to meet with a therapist and work on her detox. A source told E!News that Demi "wants to make a statement to her fans, family, and friends that she is strong and can recover."
"Her family and team have decided that the best situation for Demi to focus on her sobriety is to check into an in-patient facility. This approach was based on what has worked for Demi in the past when she lived in an in-patient rehabilitation center for over a year," a source told Entertainment Tonight.
The 'Confident' singer has received love and support from celebrities and fans worldwide. Selena Gomez, in a recent interview with ELLE, spoke about her friendship with Demi. "All I'm saying is, I reached out to her personally. I didn't do a public thing. I didn't want to. I... I love her. I've known her since I was seven. So... it's... that's what I'll say," she said.
