Eight people have been arrested after the Delhi Police's Special Cell seized party drug Mephedrone, also known as "meow-meow," worth Rs. 20 crore from a location in Greater Kailash in the capital.
The police then arrested a man named Surinder Singh from Chitaranjan Park and have also come across a nexus of peddlers who supply drugs to the youth and are operating in Delhi and Mumbai, ANI reported.
Meow-meow or M-Cat or Mephedrone is a popular party drug among revellers.
The Delhi Police on Monday had arrested four people – two Nigerians and two Indians – for possessing heroin worth Rs. 16 crore.
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had seized a consignment of Mephedrone worth Rs. 90 lakh last month from three people linked to a Nigerian drug racket based in Mumbai.
