It is not just Delhiites who are celebrating and congratulating Arvind Kejriwal for the massive victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the recently-concluded Delhi assembly elections.
Malayalam film actors Rima Kallingal, Murali Gopi, Joy Mathew, directors Aashiq Abu, B Unnikrishnan have also congratulated Kejriwal and AAP for winning 67 out of 70 seats.
"Delhi proves that it is not possible to cheat people every time. The truth's lights have been spreading and the power of democracy is also proved. Greetings for the new government," posted Aashiq on his Facebook page.
The director's wife and well known actress Rima has also expressed her support towards the common man's party.
Even director Unnikrishnan appreciated the AAP and criticised the Modi government.
"Democracy at its spectacular best in Delhi. Aravind Kejriwal triumphs. And undoubtedly, this is the mother of all Comebacks," said actor Murali Gopy.
Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that the Delhi election results point towards a strong anti-BJP wave in the capital and people have given an apt reply to the BJP, which had different strategies before and after coming to power.
"The traditional Congress vote has gone to the AAP and what happened was there was a strong anti-BJP wave in Delhi," Chandy told reporters in Kerala, according to Business Standard.
He added that his party will introspect on its failures and work for the people.
Former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan also congratulated Arvind Kejriwal and said that Modi's "arrogance and autocratic style of functioning" were the main reasons for the BJP's loss, reports Economic Times.
