There's a lot of buzz in the smartphone industry with important launches such as OnePlus 5 just around the corner. As the anticipation for new smartphone tech awaits, OPPO is making its presence felt in the field by launching new phones.
Shortly after unveiling the OPPO R11 with dual rear camera setup in China earlier this week, OPPO R11 Plus details have emerged online. Mostly, the phones look and perform similarly, but have their own unique elements to attract a different set of audience.
As the successors of OPPO R9s and R9s Plus, OPPO R11 and R11 Plus make for a sensible upgrade. The new flagships are available exclusively in China for now, and their international availability is a mystery for now.
While we already covered the specs of R11 this week, here's a look at what its elder sibling has to offer. What we cannot miss in the R11 Plus is the massive 6-inch display with Full HD resolution and strikingly similar design to that of OPPO R11.
Diving into the rest of the specs, the R11 Plus comes with a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 4,000mAh battery, which is made possible with the large design of the phone. While it would generally take a while to fully charge such a big battery, OPPO included its VOOC fast charging tech to give the phone 0-75 percent in just 30 minutes.
The rest of the specs of the R11 Plus are identical to the R11. It comes with a 16MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture wide angle lens and a 20MP sensor at the back to capture those detailed images. There are features like 2X optical zoom, Qualcomm Spectra ISP, Portrait Mode, bokeh effect, and more. On the front, there's a 20MP snapper for your selfies.
OPPO R11 Plus supports dual SIM cards, 4G VoLTE, and runs Android 7.1 Nougat based ColorOS out-of-the-box. It will be interesting to see both R11 and R11 Plus make it to the international shores, especially now that demand and supply for smartphones with dual cameras are on the rise. If priced correctly, both phones have the perfect formula for success.
