"Ram-leela" actor Ranveer Singh has once again denied the reports that he is not dating actress Deepika Padukone.
The reports of Singh and Padukone's alleged relationship started doing the rounds after the actors worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film. But the actors always maintained that they are just friends.
Recently, in an interview with PTI, Singh said that he is not in a relationship with the "Happy New Year" actress. Singh feels that the reports of their love affair surface just because they hang out together, DNA reported.
He also said that Padukone is very special to him, but they are not in a relationship.
"No (there is nothing between us).. She is a very special person in my life and is a very close friend. She is one of the most wonderful people I have met. I have great amount of admiration and respect for her as an artist and as a professional. That's it," Singh told PTI.
When asked about the news of Padukone dating him, the actor replied saying that he is busy with his work and therefore doesn't keep a tab on tabloids news.
Since the time the alleged link up news of the actors surfaced online, they have been called as couple or love birds or girlfriend - boyfriend. But the actor doesn't like that he and his co-star are called as a couple.
"I think people are jumping the gun. I think it is very presumptuous of people to assume that two people are romantically involved if they are seen going out together. I don't think that is correct judgement," he said.
The actor, who recently joined Facebook, further went on to add, "I don't intend to use this social media platform to refute anything. I want to stay connected with my fans and I love them, that is why I am on social media."
Singh and Padukone have often been spotted together at several occasions. In fact, there were reports that Singh gifted a gold pendant with "LOVE" inscribed on it to Padukone. But they never accepted their relationship status.
Singh maintained that while shooting for Bhansali's film, he grew close to Padukone, but never accepted that he dating her.
Meanwhile, Singh and Padukone are not the only couple who denied being in a relationship. Cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma are also reportedly dating each other. The couple has been often spotted spending time together, but like others, they too never accepted their relationship status.
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are also reported to be romantically linked up. There were even some reports of Kapoor buying a separate house for Kaif, but Kapoor and Kaif too rubbished all those reports.
