Bollywood's golden girl Deepika Padukone is on the verge of being signed opposite Salman Khan for the family drama "Bade Bhaiya."
After numerous speculations of Deepika-Salman's first film together, director Sooraj Barjatya has revealed that he has been in talks with the actress over the project.
"We've had several meetings with Deepika and the talks have reached an advance stage. Right now, we are figuring out the dates since it's a long schedule. However, nothing is official yet," "Maine Pyar Kiya" director told Mumbai Mirror.
A source further revealed to the tabloid that the gorgeous actress has already allotted bulk dates to the director and is quite keen to star alongside Salman, as well as work with Barjatya.
The "Chennai Express" actress was recently asked about her role in the family film, but she had denied being a part of the project and explained that she hadn't met Sooraj Barjatya officially. Despite her refusal, the usually recluse director was spotted attending her gala bash for a brief time.
Moreover, Deepika had said that she would like to work with Salman, Aamir and Hrithik Roshan in the future. And with the current developments, it seems Deepika's long standing wish of working with Salman will soon be fulfilled.
Incidentally, it was Salman and not Shah Rukh, who offered Deepika her first film. But the actress failed to work with the superstar at that point. The actress even went on record to say that a film with the "Dabanng" star would be special.
