Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is said to have upped her brand value and bagged a major soap endorsement deal, replacing advertisement queen Katrina Kaif.
Ever since Deepika gave out back-to back blockbusters this year, producers have been vying to work with her. According to reports, she is said to have increased her fee.
Given her current popularity, Deepika has been approached by a top beauty soap brand, which her competitor had long Katrina endorsed.
A report by Mid Day stated that the dusky beauty has been signed for whopping ₹6 crore which is a major jump from Katrina's ₹4 crore deal when she was the face of the beauty soap brand.
"We were in talks with Deepika since many days and things finally fell into place. She has signed the contract and asked for R 6 crore. Considering her recent success, we agreed to pay her the amount," the tabloid quoted an insider as saying.
With this advert snatching, the Deepika-Katrina cold war has gone to a new level. Katrina was already perturbed with Deepika's unkind comment about her bikini pictures with Ranbir.
For the British-born actress, the brand loss seems to be a major setback and could affect her current top actress status. Incidentally, this is Katrina's second such shocker, following Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's endorsement deal for a real-estate project which was initially offered to Katrina.
As for the beauty soap brand, Deepika's signing catapulted her to the prestigious ambassador title for the brand, which over the years featured top-notch actresses.
