Bollywood damsel Deepika Padukone has revealed that the real reason she took up "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (YJHD) was because it featured her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor.
The 27-year-old actress, who made her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 2007 hit "Om Shanti Om", revealed that she took up the offer of "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" without reading the script as she wanted to work with Ranbir. She also said she had complete faith in the film's director Ayan Mukerji.
"When I agreed to do the film I had not read the script, but I had faith on Ayan and working with Ranbir was the other reasons why I said 'yes' to the film," Deepika told Hindustan Times.
Ranbir and Deepika will be seen romancing each for the first time post their break up in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani". The pair was last seen in 2008 release "Bachna Ae Haseeno".
Speaking about their pairing in the film Deepika said, "I think we have matured as actors and have better on-screen chemistry now."
Produced by Karan Johar, "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is set to hit the screens on 31 May. The film revolves around the friendship of four people played by Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin.
Ranbir too spoke about the film and briefed about the film's four main characters who are totally wild and adventurous.
"But I don't relate to my character at all. I am not adventurous and I don't like to travel," Ranbir said.
Sharing his experience with his co-star Ranbir said, "Aditya did a lot of bad things to me during the first few days and then I bullied him back...we've done all kinds of things, like tripping each other over."
"And hopefully you'll see that fun in the film too," he added.
