Actress Deepika Padukone is on cloud nine after "Piku" became such a success at the box office. To celebrate this feat, the leggy lass threw a success bash last month, which was attended by most of the B-Town stars.
From Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt to Ranveer Singh, the entire Bollywood came under one roof to join Deepika and celebrate her joy. Surprisingly, Big B, who was one of the reasons behind the film's success, was nowhere to be seen. Speculations were made that he might have been unwell and hence could join the others. But it was later revealed that the actor was not invited.
Many jumped the gun and wondered if there was a conflict between the co-stars, but Deepika cleared the air and explained why Sr. Bachchan was not invited.
"It was a major technical error on my part and by the time it came to my notice it was too late and I'll never forgive myself for it," Deccan Chronicle quoted the "Ram-Leela" actress as saying.
"I am so embarrassed that I have not even had the courage to call him after that. I did eventually text him, couple of days ago but I have still not had the courage to pick up the phone and even explain myself to him. But I will. It was a major technical thing," she further added.
While Amitabh didn't come as he was not invited at all, ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and his lady love Katrina Kaif too gave the soiree a miss even though they were invited. The exact reason behind it is yet unknown, but conjectures are being made that the much-in-love couple is facing a career low and hence in no mood to celebrate.
"I also invited Ranbir and Katrina (Kaif) but I can understand them not wanting to party since I've gone through similar phases in my career," Deepika told Mumbai Mirror.
The Shoojit Sircar directorial made a huge win by crossing the ₹100 crore mark worldwide and the credit goes to ace actors Deepika, Amitabh and Irrfan Khan who gave brilliant performances.
