Bollywood damsel Deepika Padukone, who was seen romancing her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerji's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (YJHD), has refused to take up the female lead in the actor's next venture titled "Roy."
According to earlier rumours, the makers of "Roy" had approached Deepika to rope her opposite Ranbir in the film. However, the actress has reportedly declined to take up the project.
"If I am letting go of a movie, there might be other reasons. If I really like a script, the producer and I can always work around the dates. I have taken up only as much work as I can accommodate," PTI quoted Deepika as saying in a statement on Saturday.
Ranbir and Deepika shared a sizzling onscreen chemistry in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which has become one of the greatest hits of the year by entering the elite ₹100 crore club within a week post its release. It looks like Deepika is in no mood to romance her ex-beau on screen again. Srilankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez has bagged the project in which she will be seen playing a dual role.
Deepika also praised her family for being supportive of her. "I always said they are my strength. They know that I am extremely busy and have no time to spend with them. But they have never complained...they understand," she said.
The actress's upcoming projects include Rohit Shetty's action-comedy "Chennai Express" opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela" opposite Ranveer Singh.
