Deepika Padukone has reportedly not been selected for a role in an upcoming Hollywood movie. The actress had reportedly auditioned for a role in Tom Cruise-starrer "The Mummy Reboot" but the makers of the movie did not revert to her.
"Deepika had auditioned for the role of an Asian princess that Tom thinks about in a flashback moment. Though it wasn't a very big role, Deepika was very keen to work with 'The Mission Impossible' actor. However, it can now be said that she hasn't been selected," SpotboyE quoted a source as saying.
Apart from Deepika, Huma Qureshi too had reportedly auditioned for the role but the latest reports said that even Huma has not been selected. Meanwhile, Deepika completed the shooting for her debut Hollywood movie "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" some time back.
The "Bajirao Mastani" actress will be seen as a huntress and love interest of Vin Diesel's character in the action film. Although Deepika has reportedly missed on "The Mummy Reboot," Priyanka Chopra recently said that the actress will have more Hollywood projects.
"I am not doing any Hollywood film right now, but I am sure Deepika is doing it," Priyanka was quoted as saying when media asked her about her and Deepika's upcoming Hollywood films.
Priyanka and Deepika are currently two of the Bollywood actresses who are making rapid strides in the West. After receiving all round applause for her performance in American TV series "Quantico," PeeCee is prepping for the second season of the show. Also, she will be seen in the movie "Baywatch" starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. On the other side, Deepika's "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" features stars like Vin Diesel, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Samuel Jackson among others.
