There were rumours that Deepika Padukone was approached to play the female lead in Sundar C's forthcoming movie, which is likely to star Suriya. Now, her PR has denied the reports.
Deepika Padukone's manager has put an end to the rumour by saying that she is not in talks for a Tamil flick. "Deepika is not in talks for any Tamil film. As of now, she is busy with other commitments," the Times of India quotes the PR of the actress as saying.
The Bollywood diva had made her Tamil debut in Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" a few years ago. The film had failed to impress the viewers.
It may be recalled that there were also reports of Deepika Padukone being approached to play opposite Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi in his comeback film, which is the remake of blockbuster Tamil film "Kaththi."
Coming to Sundar C's project, the director had reportedly considered Mahesh Babu and Suriya to play the leads. Now, it appears like the "24" actor is the front-runner to bag the project.
"Discussions are on with Suriya, and we are sorting out the dates. We are also in talks with a top actress from Bollywood, but we haven't signed any of the actors. As of now, we have only finalised the technicians; Kamala Kannan, who did the VFX for Baahubali, will be roped in for this film, too. Sundar sir is still working on the script, and will take some time for the official announcement," the source adds.
The upcoming movie will be reportedly made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It is the 100th movie made under the banner of Thenandal Films.
Reports suggest that the film would be made with a budget of Rs. 250 crore.
