Latest reports suggest that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has not signed for Hollywood action flick "Fast and Furious 7".
The dusky beauty was said to have auditioned for a part in the the film and had bagged the role, which would have been her international debut.
However, the news proved too good to be true and turned out to be a hoax. Some reports suggested that the actress cited date issues for opting out of the project.
"Deepika is currently neck-deep with work. She is shooting for Happy New Year and Ram Leela. For Fast and Furious 7, Dippy was required to give dates from September to January next year. The actress was finalised for the project while she was in Dubai. Unfortunately, the announcement came even before she could return to Mumbai and sign the film," a source told Mid Day.
The reports of her opting out could just be one of those 'bollywood-actor-goes-west' syndrome gone wrong again. She now joins the like of Saif Ali Khan, Anushka Sharma and a few others who met a similar fate in their westward quest.
Saif apparently lost out on a Mira Nair film with Natalie Portman, while Anushka was a victim of rumours that she was signed by director Steven Speilberg during his famous India visit.
But for Deepika, this could hardly be considered a major loss; reports have it that the 27-year-old actress was paid a whopping Rs 3 crore for a two-day shoot for Rajnikanth's epic film "Kochadaiiyaan".
The actress has also bagged an endorsement deal worth Rs 6 crore which will see her as the face of a beauty soap.
