Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who delivered hat-trick hits this year in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", "Chennai Express", and "Ram-leela", means business as she knows how to balance her personal equations with actors and her professional life.
The 27-year-old actress reportedly went ahead and met Salman Khan even while she was shooting with Shah Rukh Khan, and she did it despite knowing the fact that the actors don't get along with each other.
According to DNA, the incident happened at Mehboob studio where Deepika and Shah Rukh were shooting for Farah Khan's directorial "Happy New Year". The actress reportedly went ahead to meet Salman on learning that he was shooting for an ad film in the same vicinity, and they chatted for a good 20 minutes.
"Deepika is aware that even though they have called truce, things are far from fine between the two Khans. So it was really brave of her to leave her set and go on the 'enemy' set. She went across to meet him when there was a tea break in the evening where Salman was sitting outside his van. Even though HNY director Farah Khan is a good friend of Salman's, she stayed away from him as her hero was on the set," DNA quoted a source as saying.
"Salman has been praising Deepika to a lot of people. In fact, on a chat show where he went recently he expressed great admiration and respect for her as an actress. It is obvious he is keen to work with her," added the source.
The actors didn't meet each other but Salman's sister Alvira and brother Sohail Khan reportedly met the unit of "Happy New Year" on the set.
Deepika's gesture would surprise many as she is said to be close to Shah Rukh Khan, who gave her a break in Bollywood through "Om Shanti Om" in 2007, before giving her the biggest hit of her career this year in "Chennai Express". However, she made the right move as a professional by meeting Salman, her hero in Sooraj Bharjatya's upcoming film, "Bade Bhaiya".
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan turned foes after getting into a brawl at a birthday party of the former's then girlfriend Katrina Kaif a few years ago. They have met on a couple of occasion and exchanged pleasantries after the infamous episode but they are said to be far from good friends they used to be.
May be Deepika can bring the old friends closer again!
