Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif may not be 'the 4am buddies' but they maintain a healthy professional relationship. But looks like they may not be able to keep the rivalry at bay for long, considering how filmmakers are always wanting either of the two for their films.
The leading ladies are reportedly strong contenders for an international film that may star either Benedict Cumberbatch or Colin Firth in an extended guest appearance.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that their names have been dragged into such news. A few months ago, there were news of them being considered for the lead role in Mohit Suri's "Half Girlfriend". Although DP denied the gossip saying she hadn't signed any such film, the rumours have lived on.
Titled "Masterchef", the project tells the story of a woman and her struggle to be the best culinary expert there is in the world.
"It's a human interest story. The protagonist has a keen interest in and a talent for cooking. It becomes a cathartic experience for her, taking her to the top of her profession," Mumbai Mirror quoted producer Ram Mirchandani as saying.
Mirchandani hasnt't responded about the casting rumours yet, but confirmed that the film may feature Heston Blumenthal or Gordon Ramsay in a small role ahead of the climax.
"Masterchef" is to roll in May-June next year and will be shot in a span of less than two months time. Coonoor and Darjeeling are some of the shoot locations that are being thought of.
If the "Bajirao Mastani" actress makes the cut, it would be a double jackpot for her. There have been reports about how she has bagged Vin Diesel's "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage".
