While Deepika Padukone is all set to make her Hollywood debut with the upcoming movie "XXX: The return of Xander Cage", the actress does not have any Bollywood project for 2016 as of now.
Deepika did three movies in 2015 including "Piku", "Tamasha" and "Bajirao Mastani". While "Piku" and "Bajirao Mastani" emerged as box office hits, "Tamasha" was an average grosser. However, Deepika has confirmed that she has not signed any Bollywood film for 2016.
"I haven't liked anything that I have read. Am I an actor who signs a film to keep my calendar busy? The answer is no. Similarly, did I do three films to prove a point? The answer is again no. I genuinely wanted to be a part of these three films. I had four films in 2013 and 2015 again three films and 2016 not a single film and I am very secure in that space. I only want to do films where I know I am creatively satisfied. I will not do a film to keep myself busy," Absolute India quoted Deepika as saying.
While the director of "XXX" threequel D.J Curaso has said on Twitter that Deepika has a very important role in the movie, there is a tweet which says Deepika will start shooting for "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" from February this year. The director retweeted the tweet.
Earlier, the actress shared a picture on Twitter, hugging Vin Diesel with the "XXX" logo in background. Soon, speculations started doing the rounds that Deepika will feature opposite Vin Diesel in the upcoming movie and the speculations turned out to be true. The actress was reportedly also offered "Fast and Furious" in 2013, but she could not take it up due to her packed schedule.
