Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer Dear Zindagi has been performing very well at the box office with its collection running over Rs 50 crore. The movie completed 10 days at the domestic market and it earned decently on its second Sunday as well.
Dear Zindagi ended its 2nd weekend at the Indian box office with a collection of over Rs 55 crore nett. Directed by Gauri Shinde, the film has been running successfully in theatres since its opening day.
The Shah Rukh, Alia-starrer had earned over Rs 30 crore in the domestic market in just 3 days of its release. Dear Zindagi obviously had witnessed a drop in its collection over the weekdays but the weekend business again rose up.
The movie had collected Rs 2.25 crore on its second Friday. Saturday collection had witnessed a growth of 55.56 percent as it had collected Rs 3.50 crore at the domestic market. Dear Zindagi remained steady on Sunday as well and collected Rs 4.35 crore nett, taking its 10-day box office collection to over Rs 57.10 crore.
"#DearZindagi is nearing 60 cr mark...[Week 2] Fri 2.25 cr, Sat 3.50 cr, Sun 4.35 cr. Weekend 2: 10.10 cr. Total: 57.10 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film had received positive reviews from the critics and then strong word of mouth has been favouring its business. The audience has liked the onscreen chemistry between SRK and Alia, plus the storyline has also been appreciated.
Although Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani 2 released a week later Dear Zindagi, the former's collection remained more or less unaffected. Nevertheless, Kahaani 2 has also performed decently on its first weekend. This week will be crucial for Dear Zindagi as Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor-starrer Befikre will hit the screens on next Friday that will affect the Gauri Shinde's film's run at the Indian box office.
