IPL 2016 has almost reached its business end and we are yet to know the remaining two teams (other than Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad) who will cement their places in the playoff stages of the tournament. Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will lock horns in Raipur in the last league match of IPL 2016 on Sunday and it is surely going to be one heck of a match as the winner will secure a place in IPL 2016 playoffs.
Let us take a look at how this final league game of IPL 2016 between DD and RCB could transpire in Raipur on Sunday:
If Delhi Daredevils bat first: Quinton de Kock and Rishabh Pant get off to a decent start but the latter fails to a wrong one from Yuzvendra Chahal inside the Powerplay overs. The wicket here has been on the slower side in the previous games and the slower bowlers are making good use of it. Stuart Binny manages to dismiss De Kock as well in the next over and all of a sudden the Daredevils are under pressure. Delhi Daredevils score just 30 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first six overs. Karun Nair and JP Duminy steady the ship and add 122 runs together until the 19th over. Nair remains unbeaten on 65 and DD reach a total of 163 for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs.
Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle start off with 14 runs from the first over of Jayant Yadav. Zaheer Khan foxes Gayle with a slower delivery and Gayle miscues it in the air and De Kock makes no mistake. Khan introduces Amit Mishra inside the Powerplay overs and to every Delhi fans' delight, he dismisses De Villiers with a quicker delivery. Watson and Kohli steer the run chase. RCB skipper Kohli has been outstanding when it comes to run chases and yet again he does it for his side and propels RCB to the second spot in the points table.
If Royal Challengers Bangalore bat first: Kohli and Gayle are finding it difficult to time the ball as the wicket is assisting the seamers. Kohli edged one to the sleep and Zaheer gets the big fish early. Gayle too is dismissed in quick succession by JP Duminy. Watson and De Villers try and steady the ship as the duo add 78 runs. Watson miscues one and goes straight to the fielder positioned at deep mid-wicket and Mishra breaks the dangerous-looking partnership. KL Rahul and De Villiers bat well in tandem to take the score to 157 for the loss of three wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Pant and De Kock get off to a good start. DD manage to get 50 runs in the first six overs and RCB are under pressure all of a sudden. Yuzvendra Chahal breaks the partnership after dismissing Pant. Karun Nair and De Kock continue to find those boundaries. Chris Jordan picks up three wickets in one over to turn the tides. Delhi Daredevils need 30 from the last two overs. Morris and Brathwaite get closer to the target, but at the end they fall short by just 2 runs.
