After Shilpa Shinde, the "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai" actress, failed to take up a role in "The Kapil Sharma Show," which is hosted by popular standup comedian Kapil Sharma, makers of the rival series "Comedy Nights Bachao" reportedly offered her a role which she refused.
"The Kapil Sharma Show" will be aired from April 23 onwards on Sony Television. "Comedy Nights Bachao," which is telecast on Colors TV, is said to be the biggest competitor of the new show. Shilpa failed to bag the role in Kapil's show as she has been banned by Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) due to her ongoing fight with the producer of "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai." Colors TV had then approached the actress with a full-fledged role in "Comedy Nights Bachao," according to SpotboyE.
Following Shilpa's refusal to accept the role, makers of "Comedy Nights Bachao" again called her on Monday, asking her to appear on the show as a guest but she refused that too, the report said. "Who knows, maybe they wanted to take a dig at her for not just her Bhabi Ji controversy but her miss on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' as well," the report quoted a source as saying.
Shilpa has been in news these days for her rift with "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai" producer Benaifer Kohli. The actress had alleged that the makers of the serial have been mentally torturing her and hence she had stopped shooting for the show. The producer then had approached CINTAA, and the organisation had directed Shilpa to resume shooting as she had an exclusive contract with the makers of the show. However, the actress did not entertain the order and this was followed by a ban on Shilpa, prohibiting her from working with any channel or broadcaster.
Meanwhile, Kapil's team is all set to come up with the first episode of his new show, "The Kapil Sharma Show" on Sony TV. The brand new show will have almost the same cast as "Comedy Nights with Kapil," including, besides Kapil himself, Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Chandan Prabhakar.
