Celebrity couple David and Victoria Beckham have gone through thick and thin together all these years and are known for their commitement to each other. This time, they are in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The grapevine is abuzz with the news that David Beckham, the former British football captain, had an affair with opera singer Katherine Jenkins, thus raising doubts if his 13-year-old marriage with the former Spice Girls singer would be over.
It is reported that Victoria is amused by the rumours of her husband's affair with the 32-year-old opera singer and doesn't want her family to be dragged into the controversy.
"She is bemused by the whole thing," MailOnline quoted a source as saying. "Victoria understands why Katherine would want to defend herself against these allegations."
Katherine Jenkins fueled rumours a few days ago by publicly denying the affair with Beckham on her Twitter page.
"Dear Twitter friends, I've read some horrible rumours on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I've had an affair with David Beckham. The rumours are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable," she tweeted.
She admitted that she had met the footballer twice but denied having affair with him.
"I've only met David twice: once at the Military Awards in 2010 & on a night out in the West End in Feb 2012. We were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out. Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up," she tweeted.
David Beckham and Victoria married 13 years ago and are blessed with four children - Brooklyn (13), Romeo (9), Cruz (7), and Harper (13 months).
It may be recalled that the Beckhams' marriage was on the rocks in 2004 after the reports of David's alleged affair with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos hit the headlines.
