Daughter-in-law arrested after CCTV footage of brutally attacking her mother-in-law gone viral [VIDEO]

A woman has been arrested from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh after CCTV footage went viral on social media showing her brutally attacking her elderly mother-in-law. The police have registered a case against the arrested woman, identified as one Sangeeta Jain, under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

The disturbing footage, taken on 5 January, was shared on Facebook by social activist Kundan Srivastava on Monday, 10 January. The shocking video shows Sangeeta torturing her 70-year-old mother-in-law Rajrani Jain at their residence. Apart from slapping Rajrani and trying to strangle her with a cloth, Sangeeta is also seen dragging her mother-in-law down from the bed and hitting her with a stone. She is also seen trying to electrocute the elderly woman with a water-heating rod. It is reported that Sangeeta had tried to kill her mother-in-law many times before this.

"My daughter-in-law attacked me, she slapped me again and again. She hit with me a stone," Rajrani was quoted as saying by ANI.

Sangeeta has been married to Rajrani's son Sandeep Jain for seven years. They are undergoing divorce proceedings, but claimed Sangeeta was forcefully staying at her husband's house. She has even filed false dowry harassment and marital rape cases against her husband, claimed the septuagenarian. 

"Strong laws were created for women, but some women are misusing the laws," Kundan wrote while sharing the disturbing video on Facebook in a post in which he tagged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The video has gone viral with more than 3 million Facebook users watching it in less than a day of its release on Kundan's social media page.

Yet no action was taken by the police because these attack has done by a woman. Sangeeta Jain haunt her husband for false Dowry & Marital Rape cases.
