Nissan's low-cost brand Datsun is all set to pull the wraps off its third offering, the redi-Go, in India on Tuesday, June 7. The redi-Go, which was unveiled in May this year, will be pitted against Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid in India.
Built on the same CMF-A platform of the Renault Kwid, the redi-Go — the small hatchback from Datsun — is expected to be offered in five variants (Datsun redi-Go D, A, T, T(O) and S) and come donned in five exterior colours (ruby red, white, silver, lime green and grey). In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width and 1,541mm in height. The bookings for the red-Go are already open in the country and its starting price will be Rs. 2.39 lakh (base variant).
Under the hood, the redi-Go will get a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor that churns out 53bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It will return a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl.
Earlier reports had said that the redi-Go will get driver side airbag standard in the top variant. It will come packed with features like remote fuel lid opener and tailgate opener, rear door child safety lock, body-coloured bumpers, chrome accents on grille, premium fabric seat upholstery, piano finish for centre console, front speakers, power steering, USB/AUX/radio/FM/AM player and daytime running lights.
Datsun is expected to commence the delivery of the soon after the launch.
