Datsun, Nissan's low-cost car brand, has started accepting the bookings for its soon-to-be-launched redi-Go urban crossover in India on May 1. While Datsun has confirmed that the launch of the redi-Go will happen in June, the company did not reveal the exact launch date. Now a report of OverDrive says that the launch of the new redi-Go has been scheduled for June 1.
The redi-Go was first showcased as concept at the Auto Expo 2014 and made its global debut in India on April 14. It is open for bookings with a down-payment of Rs. 5,000 and can be booked online through the e-retailer Snapdeal. The deliveries of the new Datsun offering will also begin in June. To be priced in the range of Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 3.5 lakh, the redi-Go measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width and 1,541mm of height.
Based on the same common module family (CMF-A) platform as that of Renault Kwid, the redi-Go will be powered by an 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Datsun redi-Go is available in five colours -- ruby red, white, silver, lime green, and gray -- and is expected to boast high fuel efficiency.
Previous reports suggested that the hatchback is getting good response from the customers and has received nearly 150 bookings in four days in Mumbai alone. Datsun also launched Datsun India App to keep customers updated on the latest news about the redi-Go launch and it can be downloaded from Google Play store.
