A fresh batch of images of Datsun's upcoming redi-Go has emerged online, adding to the long list of spy shots of the model before its actual launch in the country.
Caught on camera by the folks at Indian Autos Blog, the latest spy shots of redi-Go show a prototype with full body camouflage. Datsun redi-Go, the upcoming offering of the Nissan's low cost brand is expected to embark upon its Indian journey in this financial year. General assumption is that the company would showcase the model at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida.
Coming back to the spy shots, although the camouflage on the prototype does hide a lot of details, the images doing round on the internet give a sneak peek into the front-profile of the model. The test mule shows a lot of similarities with the concept of the model, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2014. Here, the redi-Go is seen with single wiper at the front. It also shows the overall body proportion of the model.
The Datsun redi-Go, codenamed DatsunI2, which rides on the CMF-A (Common Modular Family) platform -- the same platform of Renault's latest offering Kwid, is likely to be priced under Rs 3 lakh in the country.
Expected to be squared off against Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon, the redi-Go will be the third product from Datsun after Go hatchback and Go+ MPV in India. Under the skin, the redi-Go is speculated o get a three-cylinder petrol engine with five-speed manual transmission. The model is also likely to come equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT) variant as there increasing demand for the AMT models in the country.
