Datsun's new offering, the redi-Go, small hatchback is expected to break the cover in India on June 7 and now, ahead of its launch, what seems to be the official brochures of the car have appeared online, giving a clear idea of the variants and features of the model.
Shared by RupChik Jokes, the leaked brochure reveals the redi-Go will be offered in five variants — Datsun redi-GO D, A, T, T(O) and S. To be sold in five colours — ruby red, white, silver, lime green, and grey, the redi-Go is open for bookings in the country with a down-payment of Rs. 5,000. Built on the CMF-A platform developed by Renault and Nissan that also underpins the much-acclaimed Kwid, the redi-Go is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor that churns out 53bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Both the cars will return a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl.
Going by the leaked documents, the red-Go will get driver side airbag standard in the top variant. While the base variant, the redi-GO D comes packed with features like driver-side mirror, black steel wheels, front wiper, passenger storage tray, remote fuel lid opener and tailgate opener and rear door child safety lock, the redi-Go A variant features body-coloured bumpers, chrome accents on grille, passenger-side wing mirror, premium fabric seat upholstery, AC and digital tachometer. The third variant, the redi-Go T ,comes packed with features such as full wheel cover, piano finish for centre console, front speakers and power steering. In addition to the features of the T, the redi-Go T (O) gets power window switch, USB/AUX/radio/FM/AM player. The top-end variant, the redi-Go S, features daytime running lights and driver side airbags in addition to the features offered in the T (O).
The redi-Go, which will be pitted against Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid in India, will get a price tag of Rs. 2.39 lakh for the base variant.
