It seems like the launch date of Nissan's new car, the redi-Go, has almost been confirmed as the emerging reports on the web indicate a launch in the first week of June. A report of Oncars.in, citing sources close to the development, says that the new redi-Go will be launched in the country on June 7.
Datsun, the low-cost brand of Nissan is looking to add a success story in its India chapter with the new offering, the redi-Go. The bookings for the model are already open in the country for a down-payment of Rs. 5,000 and the company is expected to price it in the Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 3.5 lakh bracket. The redi-Go is Datsun's third offering in India after the Go hatchback and Go+ MPV. It is expected that Datsun would commence the delivery of the new model in June.
Built on the same CMF-A platform of the Renault Kwid, the redi-Go will draw power from a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor that churns out 53bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It is expected to return a fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl and will pack features like 13-inch wheels, an audio system with radio, CD, MP3, USB and aux-in connectivity.
To come donned in five exterior colour options — ruby red, white, silver, lime green and grey — the redi-Go measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width and 1,541mm in height. The redi-Go will be pitted against Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid in India and will be produced at Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai.
