Datsun India has teased an image of the Go+ MPV with cosmetic add-ons on its social media platforms. The teased version of the MPV is expected to be launched as a special edition during the festive season to encash upon the increased sales expected during the period.
The silhouette of the vehicle in the teased image clearly shows it is the Go+ MPV. The picture also show the MPV with roof-mounted rear spoiler, roof-rails and side body decals. In addition to these, front and rear bumpers with black plastic cladding, lower body cladding all around, flared wheel arches and new alloy wheel design can be expected in the vehicle. On the inside, the seat upholstery may get new colour with contrast stitching.
The powertrain of the MPV will be continued in the special edition without any changes. The Go+ is powered by a 1.2-litre engine developing 67bhp and peak torque of 104Nm coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The MPV returns a fuel efficiency of 20.62kmpl.
The vehicle has been priced between Rs. 4.01 lakh and Rs 5.13 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new variant is expected to cost slightly more than the regular model.
The Go+ entered market in January 2015, but its sales never took off as expected right from the launch. The car maker sold only 551 units of the MPV in June 2016, according to Autoportal. The new edition is expected to give the much-needed boost to the Go+ sales.
