Nissan's low-cost brand Datsun is back in the competition with it's yet another affordable offering Datsun Go+. Go+ MPV, the second offering from Datsun after the Go hatchback made its India debut on Thursday with a price tag in the range of ₹3.79 lakh - ₹4.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Offered in a total of four variants-D, D1, A and T, Datsun Go+ is India's first sub-compact MPV. Seated on a wheelbase of 2,450mm, Datsun Go+, the "compact family wagon" measures 3,995mm in length, 1,635mm in width and 1,490mm in height.
The engine line-up of Go+ includes 1.2-litre engine that can churn out a power of 67bhp and peak torque of 104Nm. It comes coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox and is tuned to deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.62km/l.
From a visual stand point, Datsun Go+ is just another elongated version of its smaller sibling Go. Lookwise, both the MPV and hatchback is more or less remains the same except for the rear end of Go+ with third row of seats. There is a boot space of 48-litres and the folding of third row seat can increase the boot space up to 350 litres.
As for the safety features, Datsun Go+ MPV missed out on even the basic safety features like airbags and ABS. In India, Datsun Go+ is pitted against Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and Honda Mobilio.
The hatchback is available in six body colours: Ruby, Gold, White, Silver and Grey
