The 2016 World Twenty20 will be played in India from 11 March to 3 April.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) approved the dates for its main events through to 2019, following its Board meeting on Thursday.
Though the tournaments were awarded to countries in 2013, the dates were approved on Thursday.
The board also approved the dates for the 2017 Champions Trophy in England which will be held between 1-19 June. England will also host the 50-over World Cup in 2019 from 30 May to 15 July.
While the 2017 Women's World Cup will be held in England between 4-27 Aug, the 2018 Women's World Twenty20 will be held in the West Indies between 2-25 Nov.
For junior cricketers, the Under-19 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh from 22 Jan 14 Feb in 2016 while the next edition in 2018, to be played in New Zealand, will be held from 12 Jan to 4 Feb.
