Netflix's "Daredevil" will return with Season 2 in 2016, but the premiere date is yet to be confirmed. However, we can circle the date to April 2016, seeing as Season 1 was aired around the same time.
It was speculated by the star Charlie Cox himself that Season 2 of "Daredevil" would either be aired around the same time as the previous season. Owing to the "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage" series Season 2 could also get bumped to the second half of 2016 or even to the beginning of 2017.
A trailer for the upcoming season, unofficially titled as "Daredevil vs. The Punisher" reveals the presence of The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung), which has got all fans really excited. Punisher has appeared in digital media before 1989's "The Punisher", 2004's "The Punisher" and finally 2008's "Punisher: War Zone".
However, none of the movies really made a mark, and therefore, most of them are happy that the Marvel character will finally be seen in the series that deserves him. As Kratos x23 puts it, "FINALLY the Punisher will be in something GOOD!"
The other great addition, Elektra -- who used to Matt's college girlfriend, is now a killing machine. Season 2 will look into what transformed her, and the most popular guess is that The Hand would also be officially introduced soon. In fact, we think she may still be working for the organisation that helped her become who she is.
The fans theorise the introduction of Kirigi, the ninja assassin that was resurrected by The Hand, in the upcoming season. The undead killer is powerful enough to lift at least 1,000 pounds and is a skillful martial artist and weapons master. It would be a brilliant move, it Kirigi were to make a surprise visit to Hell's Kitchen, or if "Daredevil" were to even drop an Easter Egg regarding his visit.
