Aamir Khan made waves with his beefed up look for "Dangal." That photo alone has made the wait to the trailer release difficult.
At a press conference in Ludhiana, where he is shooting for the last leg of the Nitesh Tiwari-directed venture, Aamir said that the trailer is currently being worked upon and will not be released anytime soon. "There is still a lot of time for 'Dangal' to release and we are still cutting the trailer, so I have no idea when will it be launched," he told Catch News.
Based on the life story of wrestler-coach Mahavir Singh Phogat, "Dangal" has made headlines for having a similar premise as Salman Khan's "Sultan." Aamir cleared the air saying his film and Salman's had only the sport in common, adding that "Dangal" focuses on an emotional story.
"It is a co-incidence that 'Sultan' and 'Dangal' are releasing in the same year. We have a different story and the only similarity between the two is wrestling. In my opinion, Dangal goes beyond wrestling and it is a very emotional story," the website quoted him as saying.
The actor also confirmed the release date as Dec. 23 and denied reports of re-scheduling it. Rumours had it that Aamir's film would be out a week before the date mentioned, which meant that "Befikre" (directed by Aditya Chopra) would only have a week-long window to make the box office numbers. Some reports even claimed that shifting the dates could be Aamir's way of getting even with the makers of "Sultan" (produced by Aditya).
