Dangal China release: Country's biggest cinema operator snubs Aamir movie; fans disappointed
After a humongous collection of Rs 72 crore at the opening weekend, Dangal has minted a whopping Rs123.67 crore in just five days at the Chinese box office. "After having a STUPENDOUS run internationally, #Dangal has now taken CHINA by storm, amassing a HUMONGOUS ₹ 123.67 cr in 5 days there...," Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Until Tuesday (day 5), the Nitesh Tiwari directorial has minted Rs 867 crore gross at the worldwide box office and with this, we can say that the film is not far behind Baahubali: The Conclusion, which has crossed Rs. 1000 crore mark at the global market.
It now remains to be seen if Dangal manages to break Baahubali 2 box office records at the global market.
Despite some reluctance from Wanda cinemas – China's biggest cinema chain – in screening the film in most of its theatres, Dangal remains unstoppable. On its first day itself, Dangal did a fabulous business of Rs 13.19 crore in China, which is a massive figure for an Indian film at an overseas market. It has become the highest grossing Indian film in the overseas market, breaking the previous record held by Aamir's PK.
